By: Glen DuncanAssociate Research Director, Pushkaraksh ShanbhagSr. Research Manager

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the external services that enterprises in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) are looking to engage with to support the development of their multicloud datacenter architecture and digital transformation (DX) efforts. The top 3 external services priorities include data analytics services, security professional services, and application modernization services. IDC performed a study of 715 Asia/Pacific-based (APAC–based) enterprises to better understand their infrastructure services investment priorities, and in particular, those that address security concerns surrounding edge deployments. Many enterprises are in the early stages of their edge deployments, however, security is a top concern with a range of security technologies being considered or deployed. The top 3 security investment priorities to best support enterprise security objectives include security management in a hybrid environment, identity and access management, and security incident preparation and response. IDC believes that investment in security services will increase as enterprises adopt complex and sophisticated multicloud datacenter architectures from core to edge. This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on data from IDC's 2019 APEJ Services Survey.
