IDC Survey Spotlight: How Are Enterprise Priorities Changing in the Key Skills They Look for in Their Next-Generation IT Services Providers?

By: Pushkaraksh ShanbhagSr. Research Manager

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight compares the data between the IDC Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) Business and IT Services End-User Survey conducted in 2018 and the one done in 2019, and provides insights into how the key skills and the capabilities enterprises desire from their IT service providers have evolved as they move forward in their digital transformation (DX) journey. "Enterprises today are already sold on the idea of DX and its significance to their business transformation. We find that the conversation is now quickly moving to core technical skills and capabilities — intelligent automation, analytics, cloud-native development, DevOps capabilities, and such — areas that can help realize the promise of DX. This makes it imperative for technology services vendors to effectively integrate upstream DX consulting and experience-centric design capabilities with downstream technology and integration services capabilities to deliver the value customers are looking for," says Pushkaraksh Shanbhag, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Cloud and Services Research.
