By: Bill Rojas Adjunct Research Director, IDC Asia/Pacific, Hugh Ujhazy Vice President, IoT and Telecommunications
Abstract
Indonesia and Vietnam are two dynamic economies that are experiencing IoT spending growth of 16% and 13%, respectively. IoT is being positioned as part of the digital transformation of all major industries including retail, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, utilities, and transportation. Each market has distinct characteristics in terms of the state of development of their telecoms, energy, transportation, and distribution infrastructure. "Both markets have strong support from their respective governments, as all stakeholders have realized that IoT is a strategic part of digital transformation. But particularly in Indonesia, telecom infrastructure will need to continue to develop more rapidly for consumer and home use cases to develop," says Bill Rojas, adjunct research director, IDC Asia/Pacific.
