Based on the IDC FutureScape study on the global artificial intelligence (AI) market, this report presents the implications of the top 10 predictions in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) region for the next five years. The predictions were presented by laying out the time frame to reach the projected adoption level, the cost and complexity of change, the expected organizational impact, as well as the analysts' guidance to decision makers as they develop strategies and allocate resources for AI investments.
In retrospect, AI adoption to enhance or automate business operations has been the priority of many business leaders in this region. However, most organizations are early in approaching and ensuring data readiness for AI initiatives, struggling to make decisions when facing cultural differences, numerous disparate tools, different voices of internal stakeholders, and a fast-evolving innovation ecosystem. To tackle these challenges, organizations have taken a step back to ponder the desirable state of intelligent enterprise and what it takes to bring scattered AI experimentations to the next maturity stages, power many aspects of the businesses, and create sustainable changes at scale.
