IDC MarketScape: Canadian Digital Business Services 2019 Vendor Assessment

Abstract

This IDC study assesses eight IT and business services providers offering digital transformation (DX) services including digital strategy and digital agency services. Providers in this assessment are capable of providing services ranging from front-end customer experience solutions to back-end enterprise systems solutions.

This research is a quantitative and qualitative assessment of characteristics that explain a vendor's ability to deliver a comprehensive solution. The evaluation is based on a standardized, extensive framework of questions examining functional present capabilities and future strategy. Vendor calls and standalone digital transformation end-user interviews are included in the process. General market perception and technology buyers' views about vendor capabilities and attitude toward innovation are important components in this evaluation.

DX services have evolved very quickly in a short period of time. In the past five to six years, many traditional IT and business services firms have built or acquired design and marketing firms and have quickly scaled DX practices to guide customers through strategy, reengineering, implementation/deployment, support, and management of both technology and business processes to become more capable and competitive from a DX perspective.

To fully address the business needs of customers and to design solutions to meet specific outcomes, services firms are aggregating (and disaggregating) DX services offerings to address all aspects of business transformation," says Jim Westcott, research manager, IDC Canada.
