TECH SUPPLIER Nov 2019 - IDC Survey - Doc # CA45643819
IoT Maturity in Canada, 2019
By: Nigel Wallis Research Vice President, IoT and Industries
Abstract
This IDC Survey analyzes IDC's latest primary research on enterprise plans for the Internet of Things (IoT) in Canada. In summer 2019, IDC surveyed 310 respondents asking enterprise IT decision makers about their IoT deployment plans through exploring the adoption of industry-specific use cases. Using a cluster analysis, IDC Canada created a maturity model to better understand the differences between success and failure in IoT adoption.
"This survey enables organizations to accurately assess their current state and readiness against peer organizations, uncovering gaps and identifying areas in need of improvement," says Nigel Wallis, vice president, IDC Canada's Industries and IoT. "Differences between the maturity stages appear in most regard, but most vividly in the underlying usage of the IoT solution and the degree to which advanced analytics is utilized in conjunction with IoT."
