This IDC Presentation focuses on the IDC European Vertical Markets Survey 2018-2019, carried out between August and November 2018, of 2,759 European organizations with more than 10 employees. The countries covered are the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, thus representing 77% of European Economy (in terms of GDP of 40 countries). This document shows the detailed methodology adopted to design and frame the survey. It also provides an overview of the sample and respondents' profile by vertical market, size, and functional area. The topics covered in the survey include: IT spending and owners of IT budget, role of lines of business (LOB) in IT investments, business and IT security priorities, adoption and future deployments of 3rd Platform technologies (cloud, big data, social media, and mobility), adoption and use cases for Innovation Accelerators and other emerging technologies (Internet of Things or IoT, artificial intelligence or AI, robotics, augmented/virtual reality or AR/VR, 3D printing, and blockchain), insights into new trends (digital transformation, customer experience, industry collaborative cloud), vendor evaluations, and adoption of other vertical-specific IT solutions.

"The IDC European Vertical Markets Survey provides IT vendors with clear vertical specific insights on IT investments, direction, and technology adoption patterns across European organizations," said Giulia Carosella, research analyst, IDC European Industry Solutions.
