Western Europe Unified Endpoint Management Software Market Shares, 2019: Top Vendors Bifurcating the Market
By: Kevin Restivo Research Manager, European Enterprise Mobility
Abstract
This year, IDC has expanded its market definition of the market for enterprise mobility management software designed to manage and secure the many endpoints employed to access company resources. The ability to manage mobile devices, PCs, and Macs (and up to four or more endpoint device operating systems or OSs such as Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android) is often a requirement for IT management and operations teams even though the hardware is bought by separate groups. Though buying centers are distinct, IDC expects businesses to have endpoints managed by the same group over the long term. As such, the market needed to be redefined.
This IDC Market Share study is an overview of the unified endpoint management software market in 2019. It ranks the top 10 vendors by revenue last year. Regional market trends and events that shaped the landscape in 2019 and the first half of this year are examined.
"The market for UEM software in Western Europe is steadily consolidating," said Kevin Restivo, research manager, Enterprise Mobility at IDC. "Many organizational buyers are spending more on fewer vendors to better align strategic imperatives with technology. As a consequence, the top 3 UEM vendors in the region have steadily claimed larger shares of the market. However, bigger doesn't always mean better. Specialist vendors can still thrive given their ability to meet particular needs."
