On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Survey presents a subset of results from IDC's 2020 European Enterprise Mobility & Devices Survey. It aims to understand enterprises' key strategic mobile device initiatives, from investment priorities to strategies and key deployments. In this presentation, some of the key results and changes are highlighted and analyzed for Western Europe (WE) and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE).

Mobility has a leading position among companies' ICT priorities. Enterprises' mobile strategies are becoming more sophisticated and require customized solutions. For this reason, market players are developing solutions that will help the next generation of mobile workers work more securely with highly customizable devices and services. Our research finds that at the end of 2021, the percentage of mobile workers in Western Europe will go beyond 50%. This percentage is set to grow in the next few years to reach over 61% of the entire workforce by 2024.

The annual European Enterprise Mobility & Devices Survey was conducted in August 2020. This survey helps companies track rapid transitions in the highly competitive and fast-moving marketplace as well as covers essential questions that help understand enterprises' mobility strategies in terms of connectivity, software, and security and device procurement. For the purpose of this study, 1,130 businesses across 11 countries in Western and Central & Eastern Europe were surveyed. It provides key findings and strategic advice for technology and services providers.

The charts in this presentation only show the results at total level. Breakdowns by country, company size, and industry sector are available upon request.
