"In 2018, management strategies related to the Japan enterprise infrastructure market and the performance are revealed. It was proven that if a performance under appropriate management strategies is enhanced, then high growth can be achieved, and shares can increase even in a mature market. Customers are separated into two groups. One group seeks vendors that are able to provide comprehensively, from hardware to middleware, applications, further to systems integration and cloud services. Another group is more suitable for vendors that provide enterprise infrastructure, namely server and storage, through an ecosystem. There are some mismatches when vendors that claim themselves as general IT vendors target both customer groups in a mature market, that is, the products and services they provide compete with the solutions provided by other members in the ecosystem. This issue requires vendors to have more advanced strategies than before and to create a mechanism for effective strategy execution," says Satoshi Fukutomi, group manager, Enterprise Infrastructure, IDC Japan.
