IoT Adoption Trends in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar: Current and Planned Usage Levels Among Businesses — Part 2

By: Krishna ChintaProgram Manager, Telecommunications and IoT, IDC Middle East and Africa

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight looks at key Internet of Things (IoT) adoption trends identified in IDC's latest Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) CIO Survey. The survey, conducted in early 2019, captured the key business challenges and technology investment priorities of CIOs across META. Of the several technology areas and countries covered in the survey, IoT adoption trends in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar are covered in this document.

"Insufficient understanding of IoT benefits, security and privacy concerns, lack of internal skills, and unclear or unproven ROI were identified as key factors hindering IoT implementations. Some of these factors also weaken management support for IoT projects and prevent the approval of separate IoT budgets in the other Gulf Cooperation Council countries." — Program Manager Krishna Chinta, telecommunications and IoT, IDC Middle East, Turkey, and Africa
