This IDC Perspective presents six IT organizational priorities and behaviors that a survey of more than 2,500 enterprise IT organizations found correlate with organizational success. Success was measured across a range of business and IT administrative metrics including:

  • Bookings growth
  • Profit margin growth
  • Revenue growth from established product lines and new product areas
  • Frequency of inventory turns
  • IT employee productivity
  • Organizational and IT compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Customer satisfaction with IT service provision

The IT organizational behaviors and priorities were analyzed to identify the IT organizations that most consistently appeared in successful organization.
