Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight shows the results that offer insights into one key area of this new procurement trend and reveals the metrics of the as-a-service models that matter. In September, IDC conducted a survey of 300 United States–based ITDMs at large and medium-sized enterprises to further explore the drivers behind flexible consumption models and key attributes of the programs and providers. IDC research into these flexible consumption models underscores that demand for these models continues to grow, but now that the adoption of these offers has proliferated, fine-tuning the offers is the next step to broaden the market penetration.
