Identifying, Recruiting, and Hiring DX Talent in Finance

Author: Shawn Fitzgerald
Research Director, Digital Transformation Strategies

Abstract

This IDC Perspective represents CFOs' points of view that digital talent identification, recruitment, and hiring require a fresh talent acquisition approach — starting with how to define the digital skills needed, defining the organization structure these defined roles will operate in, and pairing to identify the best candidates. CFOs agree digital transformation (DX) is necessary. Companies today are challenged to both fully understand DX and digital talent they need to transform.

As IDC's Shawn Fitzgerald, research director, Digital Transformation Strategies, states, "We sat down and interviewed an experienced group of CFOs, corporate treasurers, and financial recruiters, representing over 150 years of collective professional experience. This panel was composed of individuals with Fortune 1000 company experiences, including public, privately owned, and private equity. We asked and polled them to discuss a range of digital transformation topics including the what, how, when, and why they needed to digitally transform both the functional areas they have direct responsibility and for their companies."
