Abstract

This IDC Perspective provides an overview of the recent electric vehicle (EV) market evolution from the point of view of utilities. Focusing on battery EVs (BEVs), this document identifies three main domains promising growth for utilities: charging infrastructure, ancillary grid services, and energy consumer services. It also analyzes the interplay of actors from different sectors especially with regards to competition and collaboration in their recent undertakings in emobility.
