Worldwide Professional Services for Digital Transformation: End-User Spending Survey
By: Gard Little Vice President, Global Services Markets and Trends
Abstract
This IDC Survey describes the spending intentions of IT and line-of-business buyers that are using external service providers to assist with digital transformation. Respondents were given the definition of digital transformation as the possibility of people or business process change based on the convergence of mobile devices, cloud services, social technologies, and Big Data. The worldwide sample size of over 300 respondents included participants from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China (including Hong Kong), and Australia. Key findings relate to factors for project success, which business processes are being transformed, changes in project sponsorship, and preferences for the project pricing method. In addition, respondents provided insight on the types of business model changes they have envisioned as part of their digital transformation.
