Worldwide Services Market Shares, 2018: The Services Market Expansion Continues
Abstract
This IDC study presents market shares for the worldwide services market for 2018, broken down into macromarkets (i.e., project-oriented services, managed services, and support services) and macroregion (i.e., Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific).
"The ranking of the top 10 largest services vendors in 2018 was relatively unchanged compared with the previous year, with the only major difference being Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) moving into the sixth position by overtaking NTT DATA, which fell to the seventh position. This represents the first time in several years that the top 10 has not had a significant event that changes the ranking compared with the previous year, namely: the HP split in 2015, DXC's formation in 2016, and NTT DATA's acquisition of Dell's Perot Business in 2017," says Chad Huston, research manager, Worldwide Services. "Accenture and Deloitte continue to set the standard for services growth at scale, as both grew at double-digit rates both overall and in each of their subsegments."
