On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Survey provides insights into United States–based organizations requirements and the challenges they face in creating datacenter resources that are drivers of (instead of bottlenecks to) innovation. This data and analysis help multitenant/colocation datacenter providers understand their enterprise customers' priorities, investments, and challenges, with the goal of improving products and offerings to create competitive differentiation and drive more successful partnerships with their customers.

IDC's analysis is based on data from the U.S. Datacenter Operational Survey, conducted in January 2019, and previous IDC surveys on datacenter facilities and operations.

"With the stakes high to innovate and support customer needs, multitenant/colocation datacenter providers are uniquely positioned to help customers improve the performance and agility of their datacenter resources. Opportunity exists to create competitive differentiation by extending IT service to the edge, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity, and driving energy efficiency initiatives." — Jennifer Cooke, research director, Datacenter Management
