By: Phil HochmuthProgram Vice President, Enterprise Mobility

Abstract

This IDC Market Note looks at two February 2019 acquisitions in the unified endpoint management (UEM) market by VMware and Jamf. Acquisitions by VMware and Jamf of smaller, specialized UEM and mobility management software vendors, with specific focus areas in vertical industries such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, and education, reflect the expanding use cases for mobile device and PC management in specific industries.

"Mobility use cases are expanding in specific markets such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and education," says Phil Hochmuth, program vice president, Enterprise Mobility at IDC. "EMM/UEM vendors are looking at specific technologies, and acquisitions, to address a growing set of specific needs and requirements."
