This IDC Survey provides technology leaders and technology vendors with current insights into the use of collaboration applications and the purchasing processes in the collaboration applications market.
For years, the mobile consumer has had access to collaboration applications that make it easy to communicate and leverage the skills of others to accomplish goals as a team. Today, collaboration applications are among the most sought-after additions to a very full IT stack. This study surveyed the attitudes, adoption, use, benefits, and purchasing paths of team collaboration applications, adjoining collaboration platforms and frequent integrations used to extend the value of collaboration platforms. It also begins to quantify the time-saving and productivity benefits that collaboration users are seeing.
"Collaboration is no longer a nice-to-have business application," according to Wayne Kurtzman, research director, Social and Collaboration Solutions, IDC. "Digital transformation now mandates that 'we > me' — and that we leverage different team members, subject matter experts, cultures, and skill sets on a platform made to digitally work together."
