This IDC Survey includes data from IDC's November 2018 Future of Work Survey. It provides results and analysis from a survey of 400 respondents who are decision makers and/or influencers in their organization's work transformation initiatives. Respondents are from a broad range of industries and company sizes in the United States. The goal of the survey was to understand the specific initiatives and technologies deployed as well as personas, challenges, benefits, and impact. This presentation specifically looks at automating and augmenting the workforce with artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and other emerging technologies.
"With the growth of 3rd platform technologies like cloud computing, analytics, mobile, and social, automation and augmentation of work is happening across almost all industries," said Amy Loomis, research director, Future of Work. "From back-office functions like finance, legal, and security to front-office functions like sales, marketing, and customer support, we see technologies like AI, AR/VR, and robotics changing the nature of work and how it is done."
