Abstract

This IDC Survey examines the adoption intentions and behaviors of United States-based buyers of artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent automation services. It includes data taken from respondents' answers to questions about a range of issues, including the following:

  • What are your organization's top 3 business priorities that led to adoption of artificial intelligence and intelligent automation solutions?
  • Were the priorities that led to adoption of your organization's artificial intelligence and intelligent automation solutions achieved?
  • What have been the biggest challenges in adopting artificial intelligence and intelligent automation solutions?
  • To what extent has adoption of artificial intelligence and intelligent automation impacted your workforce?
  • What are the top talent/skills shortages your organization faces to fulfill its artificial intelligence and intelligent automation needs?
  • Please indicate the strategy to fulfill the talent/skills shortages your organization expects to face due to adoption of artificial intelligence and intelligent automation.

The worldwide sample size of 300 respondents included participants from the United States from a variety of industries and organization sizes ranging from 1,000 employees to more than 10,000 employees. The survey includes analysis by stage of AI and intelligent automation services adoption within buyers' organizations.
