Abstract

This IDC Survey provides a summary of the topline unified communications and collaboration (UCC) results of IDC's U.S. Enterprise Communications Survey 2019, an online survey of 800 United States–based businesses fielded in August 2019. This portion of the survey explores key UC&C issues including business adoption and usage of UC&C, usage of UC&C features and capabilities, and preferred UC&C delivery method.

"UC&C adoption continues to gain momentum — one out of every two respondents said their organization currently uses UC&C and another 40% plan to implement UC&C within the next two years. But the survey also shows that 41% of employees in organizations with UC&C aren't using the deployed UC&C capabilities available to them. Top barriers to usage include a lack of end-user training or awareness that the UC&C capabilities exist, IT unable to support/deploy the UC&C solution, and complexity," says Amy Lind, research manager, Unified Communications & Collaboration at IDC.
