Abstract

This IDC Survey report provides data-based insights on the current situation and future trends related to the deployment of industrial robots in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) discrete manufacturing organizations. A total of 483 qualified organizations were randomly selected from the APEJ discrete manufacturing industry to complete this survey. The APEJ markets covered in this survey include China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

"The high interest and demand for collaborative robots were reported by the APEJ manufacturing organizations surveyed in IDC's 2019 Worldwide Robotics Survey," says Dr. Jing Bing Zhang, research director, IDC Asia/Pacific Worldwide Robotics and Asia/Pacific Manufacturing Insights. "The survey also revealed a number of faster-growing application areas over the next two years as well as demands for integrating robots with enterprise application systems, especially cloud-based Industrial Internet platforms," adds Zhang.
