This IDC Market Perspective analyzes HP Inc.'s Power of Print analyst meeting held at the company's Palo Alto, California, headquarters.

On January 22, HP Inc. welcomed guests to its Palo Alto headquarters to provide an update on its printing business. Approximately 30 members from the international press and analyst community attended the Power of Print event, which included a full day of market presentations, breakout sessions, and lab tours. Timing for the event could not have been better considering recent news and market activity, including HP Inc.'s announced organizational changes and ongoing efforts by Xerox's board to acquire the printing market leader (see Xerox to Sell Off Stakes in Fuji Xerox and XIP, Resets Relationship with Fujifilm, Fuels Speculation on an HP Inc.-Xerox M&A, IDC #lcUS45637119, November 2019).

"HP Inc.'s Power of Print analyst meeting served as the backdrop for the company to articulate its future print market growth strategy. Its focus on enhancing the customer experience in the consumer and office segments where it exhibits market leadership while simultaneously exploiting new print opportunities present in 3D, graphics, and microfluidics positions the company very well for the future," says Keith Kmetz, IDC's program vice president for Imaging, Printing and Document Solutions and 3D Printing research.
