This IDC Survey illustrates application services adoption and maturity levels within the enterprise for 2020. The document contains data from IDC's Application Services Survey, which was completed in December 2019. IDC's Worldwide Intelligent Application Services practice conducted this survey to understand enterprise interests and perceptions for services around application portfolio management, application development budget focus and distribution, application management on the cloud, containers and microservices, and platform as a service (PaaS). The overall goal of the survey was to identify how organizations have been and will utilize more progressive approaches to application life-cycle management today and in the future, as well as how they will leverage new technologies to aid them in their transformations.
"Application services providers must be prepared to lead buyer organizations through application transformation to the cloud. To be well positioned to support evolving customer needs and establish and maintain deeper customer relationships, providers need to evolve their services capabilities and anticipate and match buyer needs for modern application delivery," explained Pete Marston, IDC Worldwide Intelligent Application Services.
