Abstract

This IDC Market Glance provides a high-level view of technology suppliers across key segments, addressing strategic objectives for the digital transformation (DX) of future-ready restaurants. Restaurants in various stages of digital transformation seek technology partners to provide solutions that address goals for customer engagement, omni-channel offerings, operational efficiencies, and workforce engagement — all of which are inextricably tied to the guest experience. Vendors are increasingly asked to provide more comprehensive features and functionalities or robust integrations to meet these needs. This IDC Market Glance focuses on core areas that can directly or indirectly impact guest experience. To streamline this view, some corporate technologies were purposefully omitted. One example of this is inventory management. Inventory management can impact guest experience in an indirect way; it therefore receives consideration as a component under other segments such as IoT solutions, blockchain, and mobile workforce and communication and was not illustrated as its own segment or subsegment.
