This IDC Market Perspective analyzes the market impact of NVIDIA and SoftBank's agreement that SoftBank will sell Arm Ltd. to NVIDIA for $40 billion.
"NVIDIA and SoftBank say the deal will take about 18 months to close," said Shane Rau, research vice president, Computing Semiconductors at IDC. "However, it is not guaranteed to close and we have to consider what the impact will be just in those 18 months, such as the interim impact on Arm, the Arm ecosystem, and Arm's customers."
